Although competition season doesn't officially begin until January, the journey starts now.
August is one of the most important months of the year for our company dancers. This is when choreography begins to come to life, technique is refined, friendships grow stronger, and the habits that lead to success are built.

Every rehearsal, correction, and hour spent in the studio lays the foundation for the performances and competitions that lie ahead. While trophies and awards may come later, our focus right now is on growth, teamwork, dedication, and becoming the best dancers we can be.
Here are a few important reminders as we begin this exciting journey together.
Company Headshots & Action Photos
One of our favorite traditions each season is Company Picture Day!
Company headshots and action photos will take place on Saturday, August 8th. These photos celebrate our dancers and will be featured throughout the season in studio displays, social media, recital programs, and promotional materials.
Come ready to smile and represent Elite Dance Academy!
Important August Deadlines
Please don't forget these important company dates:
August 8
All company order forms are due.
August 31
Last day to inform the Company Assistant Director on any option competitions.
If your dancer is interested in participating in optional competitions, solos, duos, or trios, please communicate with the Company Director before the deadline so we can help with planning and registration.
Blackout Weekends
Please reserve these mandatory rehearsal weekends:
August 14–16
August 21–23
These weekends are essential as we begin preparing our routines for the season ahead. During these rehearsals, our instructors will continue setting choreography, cleaning formations, refining technique, and helping dancers build confidence as a team.
Attendance is expected for all company members. If a dancer must miss a blackout rehearsal, private sessions with the choreographer will be required at the parent's expense to ensure they are caught up and prepared.
Dance & School: Finding the Balance
As our dancers head back to school, we know schedules become busier and routines begin to change.
At Elite Dance Academy, school always comes first. We believe that successful dancers are also successful students, and we encourage every dancer to make education a priority.
Learning to balance academics, dance, family, and personal responsibilities is an important life skill that will serve our dancers well both inside and outside the studio.
If your family experiences schedule conflicts, academic challenges, or any concerns during the season, please don't hesitate to communicate with the Company Director. We are here to support our dancers and work together to help them succeed both in the classroom and in the studio.
Looking Ahead
This month marks the beginning of an exciting journey. While the competition stage may still be a few months away, the work we do now will shape everything that follows.
Let's continue encouraging one another, working hard, and enjoying every step of the process. We can't wait to see all that our company dancers accomplish throughout Season 21!
