Jay Markov
Jay began his training at age 7 with Slawomir and Irena Wozniak of Master Ballet Academy in Phoenix, AZ. He continued on to receive full scholarships and training at San Francisco Ballet School, Harid Conservatory, and Nutmeg Conservatory. Jay’s professional career began in 2012 dancing with Ballet Arizona and later on Los Angeles Ballet, Ballet Rhode Island, Ballet Palm Beach and currently Ballet San Antonio. He has enjoyed performing numerous principal and soloist roles in classic’s such as Don Quixote, Giselle, Swan Lake, Napoli, Romeo and Juliet, and La Bayadere. As well as Balanchine’s productions of Western Symphony, Violin Concerto, Prodigal Son, Who Cares, Four Temperaments and more. Some of his favorite roles have been Waltz Boy in Balanchine’s Serenade and Oberon in Ashton’s The Dream. Jay has been privileged to work under directors and choreographers such as Sofiane Sylve, Ib Anderson, Thordal Christensen, Colleen and Patricia Neary, Meghan Lou, Aszure Barton, Alejandro Cerrudo, Viktor Plotnikov, and Yury Yanowsky. When not dancing, Jay enjoys teaching students, composing original music, and performing as a guest artist for pre professional schools across the country.
Jessica Markov
Jessica started her training at Master Ballet Academy under the direction of Slawomir and Irena Wozniak. Her professional career includes dancing as a commercial dancer represented by Bloc LA Talent Agency in Los Angeles, Ballet Rhode Island, Ballet Palm Beach, and currently Ballet San Antonio. She has performed roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Firebird, Carmen, Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Balanchine’s Serenade and Tarantella, among many others. Throughout her career she has been fortunate enough to have worked closely with choreographers such as Sofiane Sylve, Yury Yanowksy, Kathleen Breen Combes, Viktor Plotnikov, and Misha Djuric. When not performing, Jessica enjoys teaching and choreographing Ballet and Contemporary to students and serving as a Judge for National Dance Competitions across the country.
